ART & EDEN: ORGANIC KID’S CLOTHES FOR SUN AND PLAY
Sand filled shoes and faces with ice cream all over is my kind of day. I know those two things aren’t always the most convenient of things, but I love seeing my kids just enjoy whatever they’re doing. I’ve learned fussing over the mess just leads to an unenjoyed moment. So our little beach getaway was filled with breakfast on the beach, lots of laughs and loads of special treats. Something I do like to pay attention to is where my sweet little munchkins’ clothes comes from and how they’re made. Sharing some of our Cocoa Beach memories and my love for Art & Eden organic kid’s clothing below.
WHY ORGANIC KID’S CLOTHING MATTERS
Here’s why I skip on worrying about messy faces, but do worry about bigger picture things. It’s so easy to head to a store and grab something off the rack without another thought, right? Yes. Guilty. We are trying to get to the place where all our clothes are made from sustainable sources and care is given to the hands that create each piece. If this is something you’ve not made much thought on, it’s ok, it took me time to see it and do something about it too. Here’s how I relate it to people the easiest. If your friend talked to you about their job having poor working environments you’d encourage them to find a better job or stand up for what’s right. You wouldn’t say to just endure the mistreatment, so why do we support factories that don’t care for their employees? If you found out your favorite restaurant used hot dog meat and called it steak, you probably wouldn’t want to eat there anymore, right?
WHY WE LOVE ART & EDEN’S ORGANIC KID’S CLOTHING
Art & Eden is committed to using fashion as a source for good. Beyond the absolutely huggable designs, they use organic cotton with low impact dyes to make each unique piece. The kid’s love the softness for comfortable play time and I adore the high quality make. Past the clothing itself, they believe in so much more than that. They have a Clothes For A Cure program that provides incredible impact on the children in Central America. Since 2016, they’ve committed to providing one million vitamins and seven thousand parasite treatment courses in countries like Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Nicaragua. In the US, they partner with the Camden Street School in New Jersey to provide mentoring for development and creative engagement. Here’s their motto, which I LOVE:
“Better for the planet: sustainable materials, low impact dyes, recycled packaging.
Better for the people that make them: fair business practices, supporting artists.
Better for the people that wear them: gentle on skin.
Changing clothes changes everything.”
I couldn’t agree more.
